FM RadioKERA - mostly talk and news, great literary programming on Sunday evenings, Singer-Songwriter music Saturday and Sunday nights 8-10, This American Life Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Studio 360 about all kinds of art a 2 on Sunday afternoons. BBC all night long. On my radios that don't have buttons, this is the only station tuned..
KNON - Community Radio - diverse musics and DJs
KNTU - mostly jazz, but not that stuff called "smooth jazz," although some of this is smooth. This is the real thing. Great jazz station operated by students who may or may not know how to pronounce names. I heard one little girl say "brew-joe" for Brujo, and I think they may finally have come off saying "the drums and the saxaphone and the banjo" and may be settling again into the much more natural "on drums, sax and banjo." I imagine some idiot teacher finally letting go of his AR terminology. Used to be only until midnight, now it's all night long. Best radio station for staying up all night and making art. Often difficult to receive in Dallas (50 miles from Denton, Texas), so online is especially nice.
KPFT - Houson's Community Radio - Pacifica
KTHT - Houston's Classic Country
KTXT - Alternative music from Lubbock's Texas Tech University
KUT - Austin (Like KERA only much better)
KZPS - Classic Rock
WRR - Classical music but Quin Mathews' Art Matters radio art show, originating 7:30 pm Thursdays and repeated at 4 pm Sundays, is a sparkle of light on the Dallas art world.
More Texas radio stations you can listen to online from Mike's Radio World. North American stations.
TV
KERA-TV chanel 13 - listed big art events with DARts once, promised ongoing but didn't go on, but has lots of ongoing visual art programming

214 760-7170"Art Prostitute Gallery was founded in June of 2004 in Denton, TX. The gallery's reputation grew quickly as it brought in internationally acclaimed artists such as Rich Jacobs, Richard Colman, Evan Hecox, Cody Hudson, Mike Giant, Dalek, Todd St. John, Kozyndan, Jeremy Fish, Tiffany Bozic and many others. In most cases it was the first time they had exhibited in Texas. In June of 2006 the gallery relocated to the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. The doors were opened with a Dave Kinsey solo exhibition, the artist's first show stateside in 3 years. The gallery's main focus is to proliferate the work of artists who one would find within the pages of their publication. Well executed and culturally relevant exhibitions are the mainstay of the gallery's program, showcasing artists who are emerging as well as established."
