J R's Art Collection
One of the first — if not the first online DallasArtsRevue story was Hanging Rocks at Connemara, which told of Dallas artists Art Shirer and Sherry Owen's collaborative installation of many hundreds of wire-wrapped rocks from the trees at the former rural sculpture park.
I lusted after the rocks when I saw the two artists patiently wrapping each one for hanging and when they were hung en masse from those trees — an amazing sight. But it wasn't until last month (November as I write this near the end of 2006) that Art gave me this eloquent object.
I took it home and hung it on my wall, where it is again after photographing it in my ersatz photography studio this afternoon.
